Privacy Policy
How ClipScript handles uploaded media, audio payloads, transcripts and technical data.
Last updated: 2026-10-13
What this policy covers
ClipScript lets you transcribe short-form video and audio without an account. This policy explains what is processed when you use the tool and the optional site features.
Uploaded files and audio
Your original video or audio file is decoded inside your browser. Only a compact, compressed audio payload is sent to the configured speech-recognition provider for transcription, and only for the requested transcription. Original files are never uploaded, nothing is persisted after the result is returned, and there is no library or transcript database. Speech-recognition providers process the audio under their own retention policies as processors.
Transcripts and results
Transcripts exist in your browser session. They are not published, indexed or shared. Closing the tab ends the session; download your TXT or SRT if you want to keep them.
Technical information and use
We process limited request information needed to operate and protect the service: timestamps, error codes and abuse-prevention signals such as rate-limit counters. We use this to provide results, prevent duplicate or abusive submissions, investigate errors and maintain security. We do not sell personal information.
Optional accounts
Some site features (settings, order history) use an optional account. If you create one, we store the account data you provide and authentication records. You can stop using the account at any time.
Providers, choices and changes
We share data only with infrastructure and speech-recognition providers needed for the requested feature, or when required by law or to protect the service and its users. Do not upload media unless you have the right to use it and consent to this processing. We may update this policy as the product or providers change; the date above identifies the current version.
